Frank Ledwell Storytelling and Comedy Festival, St Peter's, 23-25 July
The Frank Ledwell Storytelling and Comedy Festival held in honour of Frank Ledwell, a native of St Peters, former Poet Laureate, and beloved writer/teacher and friend.
The event was held at St Peter’s Court House Theatre in St Peter’s, PEI.
Comedian Fraser MacCallum from the Island Stand-up Comedy Troupe, as well as Hugh MacDonald, the current P.E.I. poet laureate, Island-based poet and writer Deirdre Kessler with Terri Lukacko, an old-time music fiddler from Albany, N.Y., and Sue Dilley, a mandolin, accordion and ukulele performer/singer from Tasmania, Australia. All were part of day 3 in the festival.
Victoria Literary Festival, 16-18 July
Victoria’s first literary festival (July 16-18) was exciting and excellent in PEI’s lovely village of Victoria by the sea.
Poet Laureate's Summit, 14-16 July
The Poet Laureate’s Summit was held in Halifax July 14-16. The Summit featured 10 of Canada’s 16 Poets Laureate and combined the spoken word with some amazing jazz. It was an amazing experience.
